Fed Premier: Olympic 0, Petone 5
In the Fed Premier game at Newtown Park played today, Olympic were on the wrong end of a 5 nil pasting. The ground was under water from continous rain which was always going to make the game a lottery. The refs decided to play anyway with Petone drawing first blood from a throw-in and Scott James latching onto the loose ball to make it 1-0 after 10 minutes. The rest of the half was a midfield battle as both teams got stuck in the water with little contsructive play. A backpass saw PK caught off his line and Petone shot at goal and PK handled outside the box so the ref showed him a red card. 1-0 Petone half time. 2nd half started abysmally for Olympic with Petone latching onto a loose ball and a speculative kick lobbed over new goalkeepr Dimakis and into the top corner. 2 zip and game over. The rest of the half never really fell for Olympic as breakaways, last passes and one-on-ones got stuck in the mud. Petone benefited down the other end to finish off clinicly and stretsh a 10 man Olympic with a final score 5-0. Sometimes you look back at games like this and say that the green didn'd rub your way and it would be fair to say that the score flatterd Petone and Olympic were unlucky. But when youre are struggling the luck and the bounce do not seem to go youre way!
