Olympic triumph in narrow victory over the sharks.

Coming into this one both Olympic and Island Bay had already done enough to progress to the knockout phases of the Hilton Petone Cup but not even that was going to stop both outfits from throwing everything at each other.

Goals:
Olympic jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with Jimmy converting a penalty after being tripped inside the box.
Mikey then struck Olympic 2-0 ahead before the break with a well timed strike low and hard that beat the island bay keeper.
Half Time: Olympic 2 Island Bay 0
Olympic were again the first to bite as Adam Church finished well to put Olympic 3-0 up and what seemed to be a cruisy win over the sharks.
Island bay were not down and out and Ian Paterson clawed one back to give themselves some hope in the second half. 3-1.
Then a magnificent strike from Luciano Colucci brought Island Bay back into the game brining the score to 3-2 with around 10/15minutes left in the game.
Although Olympic were not to be outdone and the final whistle blew cementing Olympics win over Island Bay, a relief after having come out worse off last time around.
Full Time: Olympic 3 Island Bay 2

With Olympic now setting their sights on getting through the first round of eliminations the squad looks promising, and there is much to look forward to for the season ahead.

Olympic will face either Stop out or Upper Hutt City in the first knockout phase of the 2009 Hilton Petone Cup.
