Olympic v Tawa, Match Report

Olympic 6 - Tawa 1, Sunday 6th August, Newtwon Park

Played in front of about 150 people and a beautiful Spring day, Olympic played within thmeselves to quell a combative Tawa team. Tawa actually had the better of the chances in the first 15 minutes before Jamie Duncan scored from a deflection. Tawa replied immediatly with a good goal following a sweeping move. However thier delight was short lived with Geoff Brown scoring with his head from a corner (above picture). Before the end of the half Mikey Halikias and Jamie Duncan added goals with Jimmy Haidakis scoring with a sweet volley to make it 5-1 at half time. The second half meandered along with Olympic controlling posession and territory but with numerous chances could only add a Mikey Halikias goal for their efforts. One game to go against Wests next weekend to decide wethare Olympic finishes 2nd or 3rd on the table.
