Results and Season Wrap-ups

Fed Premier: Olympic 4, Lower Hutt 4 Good draw away for a reshaped Olympic team with lots of new young faces. Tony Menein bags a brace and evergreen striker Chris Christie also scores. A good showing against an experienced Lower Hutt side. Season Summary: A season of ups and downs with no real consistancy to make an impact on the championship. Problems with conceding weak goals and not taking chances presented were the achilles heel for the Olympic 1st team. Fed Reserve: Olympic 0, Lower Hutt 1 A depleted side took the field and batteled away against another strong Lower Hutt side. A few chances went begging as LH took theirs. Can't complain about the effort from this very young team. Season Summary: Finished 4th on the table which reflect a season of mixed fortune for the team. However probably just a lack of experience saw some games turn into losses when wins were on the cards. The team also suffered from loosing regular goal scorer Liam Kerrisk to injury and nver adequatly replaced him and the team suffered. Overall the boys can look back with pride for a good effort. Wgtn 1: Olympic1, Upper Hutt 6 Not an unexpected result from this games as half the Olympic 5th team having to turn out to help Johns Servos's team which was depleted of several regular players. The team stuggled without a goal keeper and suffered duly with conceding of weak goals. Season Summary: Season broken into 3 parts: part 1, bad start strugling to get players and play consistantly, part 2, mid-season revival with past 1st team players Chris Christie, Paul Kotrotsos and Basil Mitrakis helping the team, part 3, end-of-season slump where injuries and unavailabilities affect team performance. Finishing 6th is an even reflection of the year. Wgtn Div 3: Olympic 0, Wgtn Utd 6 Wgtn Utd turned up with half their 2nd team to play the league leaders Olympic. With the division already won Olympic looked rusty and lethargic. The boys celebrated the championship win anyway! Season Suumary: Consistant throughout and won all the big games. Can't ask for more than that. Wgtn Div 5: Game defaulted. Season Summary: Not enough players to sustain the team and thus ended up defaulting several games. Ended 7th not too bad considering all the games missed.
